Gas Tax Got You Down? We’re Here to Help!

It’s no secret that November marked the start of the infamous New Jersey gas tax hike, catapulting our state to the sixth highest gas tax in the nation. If you’re like the rest of us, the extra 23 cents per gallon probably has you worried about the prices you’re going to start seeing at the pump. While there’s not a whole lot we can do about it – beside drive less – you can get a vehicle that is best suited for higher fuel prices. With 13 different brands to choose from, Lester Glenn is the best place to start. Here we’ve listed the vehicles from each brand with the best fuel economy. A little bit of improvement can certainly go a long way.

1.) Chevrolet Volt With a starting MSRP of $33,220, 106 mpg and a battery range of up to 53 electric miles, the Chevrolet Volt will keep you running for longer than you ever imagined. The time to go hybrid has never been better.

2.) Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid Everything you love about the Crosstrek just got a little bit better with this hybrid. Boasting a combined 31 mpg and a starting MSRP of $26,395, this Subaru is easy on the eyes and easy on the wallet.

cdjrfmpg3.) Chrysler 200 Sleek and refined, you truly get the whole package with the Chrysler 200. A starting MSRP of a mere $22,115 and a combined MPG of 27 makes this vehicle ideal for any situation – especially higher gas prices.

4.) Dodge Dart The name of this vehicle is well deserved. Fast, compact and easy on the pocket. You can’t go wrong with a starting MSRP of $16,995 along with a 32 combined mpg. Take it out on the highway and you’re looking at 41 mpg. You’ll forget all about that extra 23 cents with this car!

5.) Jeep Renegade If you didn’t love the Renegade before, you certainly will now. Between it’s modern and unique exterior and it’s low MSRP of $17,995, you should already be sold on this vehicle. If not, it’s combined 27 MPG will certainly seal the deal.

6.) Ram 1500 Pickup trucks and good fuel economy don’t often go together but the Ram 1500 is certainly your best bet to save some money at the pump. The combined 24 mpg will allow you to enjoy everything about this truck without feeling guilty.

7.) FIAT 500 It’s no secret that smaller cars have better fuel economy but the FIAT 500 is one of the best you can get without going Hybrid. The 500 gets you a combined mpg of 34 along with a starting MSRP of $14,995. Shouldn’t you be at our FIAT dealership by now?

8.) Ford Fusion Hybrid On its own, the Ford Fusion is quite impressive. Get behind the wheel of a Fusion Hybrid and we promise you’ll never go back. With 41 mpg, you won’t even know what the words “gas tax” mean.nissanrl-5-1

9.) Mazda3 The ever popular Mazda3 will soon become your favorite Mazda. Whether you’re into the sedan or the hatchback, both will keep you smiling at the pump. Starting MSRPs of $17,845 and $19,095 respectively will get you a combined 33 mpg. Are you in love yet?

10.) Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid Don’t let the words “plug-in” scare you! This amazing car will get you 99 mpg and a permanent smile on your face.

11.) Buick Encore This cute little compact SUV (or a CUV as we like to call it) does not skimp on the perks. A low MSRP of $22,990, combined 30 mpg and awesome leg room should have you at hello. If it doesn’t, there’s plenty more where that came from.

12.) GMC Terrain You don’t need a sedan to get great fuel economy and the GMC Terrain proves it! Combined 26 mpg and a starting MSRP of $24,070 makes this one a no brainer.

With 12 different fuel efficient vehicles to choose from (and even more at our dealerships), this gas tax hike will be a breeze. As always, we are here to help you through it and answer any questions you may have! Time to go shopping 😉
