Hyundai Hope on Wheels had its annual gala in Washington D.C. and Lester Glenn Auto Group’s Adam Kraushaar and John Perillo had the opportunity to attend and represent Lester Glenn Auto Group. It was especially meaningful because September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, making the gala that much more important. It was a truly special event, filled with wonderful guest speakers and children who have directly benefited from Hope on Wheels.
Among the special guests was North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis, who we had the pleasure of meeting. He also gave a fantastic speech. Former The Voice contestant Luke Wade was also there and he gave an amazing performance! Our very own Adam Kraushaar had the honor of introducing him on stage and it was a truly wonderful experience. We also had the opportunity to chat with Hyundai President & CEO Dave Zuchowski, which was truly an honor.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels began in 1998 when a group of Hyundai dealers in the New England area launched a local initiative to support the Jimmy Fund at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This effort eventually grew to become Hyundai Hope on Wheels, which is now a national independent nonprofit organization. They are committed to helping kids fight cancer through awareness and research. It’s supported by Hyundai Motor America and more than 820 Hyundai dealers nationwide. Each time a Hyundai vehicle is sold, a portion of the sale is donated to Hope on Wheels.

To date, Hope on Wheels has raised $107 million and has helped fund $100 million in pediatric cancer research. This is especially important because only 4% of federal cancer research is dedicated to pediatric cancer. Hyundai is committed to making a difference in the childhood cancer community and Lester Glenn is extremely proud to be part of it all. We can’t wait to go back next year!
