If there’s one thing that’s true, it’s that we never stop getting excited about new model releases (we’re sure you can probably tell). Today, we’re excited about the 2019 Subaru Forester amid its updated exterior, new and exciting engine AND transmission, and a very exclusive, very exciting new safety feature that will surely surpass its competitors. The 2019 Forester will surely be worth a second glance, if not at least a first!
Subaru is of course known for their unbeatable safety track record, as well as their impressive lineup of standard and available features across all models. The 2019 Forester is really hitting that home – all new models come standard with Subaru’s Eyesight Driver Assisted Technology, which includes the perfect variety of safety features that will give you the ultimate peace of mind. Subaru Eyesight includes automatic pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist to ensure your safest ride yet.
What’s especially exciting is the available brand new DriverFocus system, which comes with the goal of protecting drivers and passengers against distracted driving. This system comes with a facial-recognition camera that will register and record up to five different drivers. It’ll register your face and set up the cabin according to your personal comfort level (seat position, mirrors and climate control), which is beyond convenient and just plain cool. You’re probably wondering: what does this have to do with safety? In theory, this technology should be able to tell if the driver is sleepy or distracted and alert them to pay attention. It’s also intended to work alongside Subaru Eyesight and default to those safety features should a distracted driver be sensed. Pretty awesome, if you ask us.
In addition to the safety features we love, the 2019 Subaru Forester also comes with a new 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer engine, which gives it 12 more horsepower, putting it in line with the Crosstrek and Impreza. The new transmission also improves its fuel efficiency, which is never a bad thing. Overall, the cabin has been improved for more comfort and storage space, allowing you to fit more cargo when needed and freeing up space when it isn’t. The front of the Forester is very similar to its predecessors but the taillights have been redesigned to give it an updated, trendy appearance.
While the 2019 Subaru Forester comes with all kinds of improvements and upgrades, we know that the most noteworthy feature of all is its tremendous value.
