It’s officially the most wonderful time of the year! Sure, Thanksgiving and Christmas are pretty great, but we’re even more excited for the Subaru Share the Love event. From now until January 3rd, when you purchase or lease a new Subaru, we will donate $250 to your choice of charities. You can choose one of the five or you can divide the $250 among all of them – the choice is yours! It’s the perfect way to truly get into the spirit of giving this holiday season.
When you buy or lease your new Subaru, the donation may go to one or all of the following: ASPCA, Make A Wish, Meals on Wheels, The National Park Foundation and The Valerie Fund. The first four are the national charities and The Valerie Fund is Lester Glenn’s hometown charity, which benefits people right here in New Jersey. Whether you’re dedicated to saving the lives of animals all across the nation (ASPCA) or you’re committed to preserving our beautiful national parks (The National Park Foundation), there’s a charity a for you. Meals on Wheels America delivers nutritious meals to senior citizens across the country; Make A Wish grants special wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Whichever one you choose, the money will be going to an awesome cause.
We’re very proud of our hometown charity this year. The Valerie Fund provides support for the comprehensive health care of children with cancer and blood disorders. It was established by Ed and Sue Goldstein in 1976 in memory of their 9-year-old daughter Valerie, who passed away from cancer. At the time of Valerie’s diagnosis, there were no comprehensive care facilities in the area so her parents were traveling hundreds of miles for treatment and consultations. On top of the stress of dealing with cancer, having to make such difficult trips on a daily basis became too much for everyone. The Valerie Fund has since set up seven Children’s Centers for Cancer and Blood disorders across New Jersey, New York and Philadelphia. These centers provide help not just for the child – but for the entire family. A staff of social workers, counselors, psychologists, and child-life specialists work together to help both the child and their family through this difficult time. It’s a truly wonderful organization and we are so happy to be able to help.
Last year, Lester Glenn Subaru donated $16,396. With your help, we can beat that number this year! This is the perfect time to get the Subaru you’ve always wanted while helping out a number of great causes. ‘Tis the season!
